OPPORTUNITY for an unpaid Graduate Intern!!

The National Gallery in Bulawayo seeks to engage the services of a graduate intern for the period September 2019 to February 2020. Such a person is a recent graduate interested in gaining work experience. Below is the role specification for the graduate intern:

Role Profile

• Research the visual art history of Matabeleland, 1940s to date.
• Produce biographies of selected male and female visual artists in Bulawayo and greater Matabeleland region.
• Produce promotional material on visual history of Matabeleland.
• Produce a catalogue after whom exhibition spaces at the NGB are named.

Person Specification

Graduated in the last three years

Seeking to build a professional portfolio

Highly competent in verbal and written communication

Ability to work with very minimum supervision

Understanding of the arts landscape highly desired

Research and documentation competency

Required Qualifications

A degree in either Journalism and Media Studies; Library and Information Science; Records and Archives Management and any other related Social Sciences qualification.
