We are thrilled to invite you a private view of ” A Visual Anthology” a solo exhibition by Bulawayo painter Japhet Funwayo, Wednesday 31 May 2017 starting at 530pm.
The exhibition marks the end of what has been a busy month on 75 Josh . In this solo anthology, we carefully selected works that speaks to the creative trajectory by Japhet Funwayo spanning back far as the early 90s, including some if his contemporary works.

A painter and art lecturer, Japhet describes this exhibition as something that one does. It is something one experience. One grows into and along with, much like a journey there is a point where one can stop to take stock and look back at how far one has come. This
exhibition is a celebration of that  journey. Every painting is an experience or a reflection of the time of life. If art were a long journey, every piece  of work is a step in that journey. Hence the title “Footsteps- A Visual Anthology”. Japhet chose to  write his stories and poems visually, that is why this is a visual anthology.

Join us in this private view Wednesday 31 May at 530pm in the Anglo American Gallery.  The exhibition will run from 1 June until 22 July 2017.   Please collect the hard copy of this invite at the gallery reception or in Wednesday at the door.
